In my senior capstone project I chose to write about my experiences and learned lessons from my 4 years of working at a preschool, and my 3 years in high school art class. These parts of my life have shed wisdom and morality onto my day to day. Both of these parts of my life have had me stressing, feeling grateful, feeling proud, feeling angered and more. But I think the things that evoke the most emotion out of me usually mean the most. Through my four and three years I have had to learn lessons the hard way. And then on the other hand there has been aspects that I have picked up instantaneously and gave me that boost of encouragement to keep working. I think these skills go hand in hand. For both of them you have to be comfortable with working through feelings, sometimes not just yours, and you have to be a creative thinker/person. I want to continue childcare as my future line of work, specifically either a preschool or kindergarten teacher, and I will most definitely be teaching my kids the importance of creating, not just art, because I think its a great way to learn, and learn about yourself in the process.
